This is an area that is very popular with my clients, breaking unhelpful eating habits, working with emotional eaters, bored eaters, creature of habit eaters, fussy eaters, minimal eaters, and all of the the above and more eaters. We all have to eat in order to survive and yet there are so many complexities that surround your relationship to food that it is only right that “Diets” don’t work for people. The fact is, that more often than not the diets work, it’s you that doesn’t. Sound harsh, but the only person that “breaks” the diet is you and why do you do it? Now that is the reason you come to see me and we work it out so you can enjoy having a positive relationship with food, weight and nutrition.
Therapy, NLP, Hypnotherapy, CBT don’t in themselves make you lose weight, there is no magic wand and suddenly the pounds fall off. Anyone that does promise a magic wand is pulling a fast one. Your conscious is fully aware of what is good food and bad food, what you should and shouldn’t eat. In fact, you’ve probably tried every diet out there and nothing works. Well guess what, it’s really tough to stick to a diet in the long term when you don’t get your conscious and subconscious to agree.
Since you were tiny your subconscious has created a great strategy to give you energy and keep you alive, make you feel better, and of course it has worked brilliantly, or so it thinks, but you know better. Your subconscious has been taught a broken set of rules, things like chocolate is a treat, or McDonald’s is a reward, or you’ve had a tough day so you deserve to eat 5 bags of crisps, ice cream will help take the edge off it, you need sugar to keep going, you have such a hectic life you need an energy boost, food stops you from being lonely so when you’re alone or feel alone you must eat to feel better. Perhaps it’s learned that if you don’t eat it now, you don’t know when you’ll be able to eat again so get it down as quickly as you can before it goes, hunger is pain and sadness, fullness is happy, unhealthy food makes you happy, it blocks out loneliness, stops tiredness, makes everything better. Can you see where your subconscious got this from? Trying to stop yourself from eating unhealthily just by changing eating habits will only last so long until the subconscious breaks through and you go back to the old habits.

We give your subconscious a new set of rules, one that is truly beneficial to your body, your mental health, your relationships, your family, your life. No longer is healthy eating hard work. We tailor our sessions using NLP, Hypnotherapy and EFT so that making positive decisions and having a healthy relationship with your food, body and health is a pleasure, a joy, and the unhealthy choices no longer hold the same power as they did before. With work we can make unhelpful food really off-putting but ultimately, we want you to be able to live the rest of your life happily and healthily, taking each food for what it is. We can do gastric band hypnosis, we can give you an aversion to foods that you overindulge in, but ideally we will give you a balanced, sensible view of food and eating so that you can conquer that weight battle and come out healthier and happier.
